If you are studying on a diploma course all your funding will come from the NHS. You will not receive any funding from the government. All the money you receive will be in the form of bursaries and grants. This means you do not have to pay any of it back.
Your support will consist of:
The NHS will pay your full fees each year.
Existing students studying in Leeds will receive £6112 a year.
New students studying in Leeds will receive £6372 a year.
This amount is not affected by your income.
If you have to move to London to attend a practice placement you will receive a one off payment of £55 and extra payments of £17 a week added on to your bursary.
Any travel costs you incur traveling to and from your placement will be imbursed.
If you have to stay away from home for your placement the extra accommodation costs will also be imbursed.
On top of the standard bursary certain groups of students will receive extra allowances:
The university sends a list of all students who have accepted places on the Diploma course to the NHS grants unit who will then send you an application from for the bursary and additional allowances. They will send you a new form at the beginning of each year provided you stay on the course.
Placement costs are reimbursed so you have to keep all your receipts to claim the money back.
