wLUU has 15 Assemblies that are open to all students to get involved in. Each of the assemblies has a specific area which they are responsible for. The assemblies carry out a range of activity that makes it possible for students to get involved in the Union and make a difference to students' lives.
Engaging with the student body: We want our members to get involved at every level of activity in LUU. Look out for the assembly which covers your personal area of interest and look out for meetings or debates which you can get involved in. If you don’t like what you see then come and speak to the Student Executive Committee or staff in the Democracy Support Team on the Executive Level of the Union building.
Actively campaigning: Assemblies can be used as a way of getting other students together to campaign about issues you care about. Speak to the Assembly Chair about any ideas or issues you want to propose.
Forum for discussion: Assemblies provide a forum for lively debate and discussion on areas which have the potential to directly impact the lives of members represented by that assembly. Importantly, assemblies are a link to LUU Policy and can make recommendations to Union Council on what this Union should stand for.
Due to the start of the new term some of the information on these pages have not been updated. If you would like more information about LUU's Assemblies, please contact the Democracy Support Team using the Assemblies Interest Form.
