It's Easy...
To join a Club or Society!
Joining a sports club or society group at Leeds University Union couldn't be easier! You can join anytime of year and all you need to do is follow the steps illustrated below.
Step 1: Find out about the group
Find out or explore the range of sports clubs and societies on offer at www.luuonline.com/studentactivities (there is also a full A to Z list of activities!) or check out the noticeboards on the corridor of Level 1 (opposite the Student Executive Office) in the Union building.
Step 2: Contact the club or society
Contact the club captain or society president and go to their next session or social for free (contact details can be found on the noticeboards or online at each group's individual web page.)
Step 3: Get Involved
If you enjoy yourself, fill out a membership form, pay your fee, and you are part of that club or society! On the other hand, if you don't enjoy yourself, there is no harm done, you can just walk away and try something else.

You can join Leeds University Union's sports clubs or societies anytime during the year and at any stage during your time at university.
Anyone can join! It doesn't matter if you missed the activities fairs; all the information about each individual club or society is online. Use the menus on the right to explore the vast range of sports clubs and societies on offer.
Why you should join a club or society...
The advantages of joining a club or society are endless! In fact NOT joining a club or society whilst at university is one of the biggest regrets for students once they leave. Some good reasons to join a sports club or society include:
- Adds value to your university life.
- Looks good on your CV
- Gives you the opportunity to meet lots of new like-minded people
- Opportunity to gain new skills
- Try new things
- Explore new activities and opportunities
- You can do interesting things with your free time
- It's really FUN!
Why not 'Try Before You Buy'?
At Leeds University Union we operate a 'try before you buy' attitude to joining a sports club or society. You are welcome to go along to any session (providing you have contacted the club/society beforehand)and, if you don't like it or it's not what you expected, you don't have to join it! However, if you love it go ahead and join! The club/society captain or president will help you with your membership form and explain what you need to do next.
