What do you like doing most in your role? Helping (generally) older students to find their way back into education and to enjoy the University to its full, utilising everything that it has to offer. I have managed to get students into education who have either been initially turned down or who might not have applied in the first place and it's given me immense satisfaction.
Why should others stand for this role or get involved? The great feeling you get from helping a group of people who have got so much to say but really don't know how to go about voicing it to the university. I feel many of us look at issues and come down on one side as to whether it's fair or not, but few get the opportunity to make a difference. I have felt I have done just that.

What do you like doing most in your role?
Organising campaigns to help raise awareness and funds for women's charities, as well as chatting about new ideas and concerns with other members of the assembly.

Why should others stand for this role or get involved?
Definitely get involved if you have a passion for helping women achieve equality around the world, as well as if you want a say in how your union deals with women's issues both inside and outside the University.

Name: Josh Jones

What do you like doing most in your role?
Probably the most fulfilling part of my role is sitting down with people and asking what they would like to see out of their Union. When you actually talk to students you find out they're not as apathetic as people make out.

Why should others stand for this role or get involved?
Because it's brilliant experience and you meet all kinds of people!

Name: Mai Ali

What do you like doing most in your role?
Representing International Students like me and getting their voices heard about issues that most matter to them as students studying abroad in the University of Leeds.

Why should others stand for this role or get involved?
Students should get involved for different reasons. First of all, it is a really good experience no matter what course you are doing. It's a great way to meet people on campus and get more involved with what’s going on in the Union.
