Leeds Stop Smoking service is on hand to help you kick the habit. You can book on to free one-to-one or group support sessions held at a variety of locations around the city, run by trained, friendly NHS specialists.
The programme is usually seven weeks long and includes receiving nicotine replacement therapy or Zyban on prescription, which the GP do not normally prescribe unless an individual is seeking support. As well as the pharmacological treatment, we also address the habit/behaviour involved in smoking, e.g. smoking in the pub, after meals, when stressed, bored etc.
The service is FREE apart from three or four prescription charges over 8 to 12 weeks (pick up an HC1 form from the Union to apply for free prescriptions).
You can contact an advisor on freephone 0800 1694219 or email stopsmokingleeds@hotmail.com. See www.gosmokefree.nhs.uk for more info about quitting.
