How the Union works

It's the members who are in charge!

Leeds University Union (LUU) is a democracy, so it's you, the students, who are the most powerful. On registering at the University of Leeds, you automatically become a member of Leeds University Union. This entitles you to vote in elections, put forward motions, and speak and vote at general meetings.

Leeds Univeristy Union is here to represent you, whether it's to the University, the Council, the Government, community groups, or the media, and provide you with a range of services to make studying a little easier and a bit more fun. LUU is also affiliated to the National Union of Students (NUS): the largest democratic organisation in Europe.
