Welcome to the Leeds University Union Intro website. We have put this mini-site together to give you all the information you might want to know about starting life at the University of Leeds, all about the Students' Union and what's going on over Intro.

Starting university is a pretty big deal and we want to make your first few weeks here to be one of your most memorable and fun experiences ever. Leeds University Union is one of the biggest and best students' unions in the country and we offer loads of great shops and bars, helpful advice services, activities for you to get involved in and host some of the best club nights and gigs in Leeds; we are the most vibrant part of campus life.

Sell-0ut crowds at every event!
21st September

The first week of Intro is almost over with sell-out crowds at every event held at Leeds University Union so far. It is also looking likely that Fruity today (Friday) and Wax:On on Saturday will do the same, so if you are still undecided about how to spend the weekend, it is time to make your mind up!
The fun doesn’t stop on Sunday however, with Fresh Jive hosting a Wildstyle Tracksuit Party in Stylus featuring hip hop pioneer Charlie Chase, and a double dutch display from the British National Skipping Team.

New weekly night rnb and hip hop night ‘Work It’ starts in Mine and Pulse on Monday; hot new punk pop band Koopa play live in Mine, with Stylus and Pulse hosting DJ Format, Taskforce and Broke’n’English on Tuesday. Wednesday brings the return of ANT with special guest Kissy Sell Out in Stylus and Pulse while Mine sees Ali Love grace the stage in a pre-club gig before The Tunnel Club.
Infamous Leeds club night The Dirty Disco are holding a one-off party starring Eric Prydz and turntablists C2C on Thursday, and the one and only Fruity turns six on Friday 28th September. Tickets for The Freshers’ Ball are selling thick and fast so best get cracking if you haven’t already secured your ticket for this amazing event.

Today is the last day NUS Extra cards are being sold in the Union building
21st September

NUS Extra cards are an additional student discount card. You will still get lots of discounts with your regular student card, but for £10 more the NUS Extra card gives you lots of additional exclusive offers and benefits. You can still get your NUS Extra cards from the Information Point in the Union building or visit www.nusextra.co.uk to find out more and to order your NUS Extra card.

The 'What's On' section has been updated

We are pleased to announce that even more events and activities have been confirmed for the Intro fortnight. Some of these include 'Give It A Go' activities such as sports, social meet and greet sessions, a family activity day and much more! Another exciting event include the LUU Media Groups' Recruitment Event - have you ever fancied writing for a newspaper, being the next Jo Wiley, or present a television show? If you are not already a registered member of Facebook, get signed up and browse some of the groups, members of LUU have created, about various things related to being a student at the University of Leeds including halls of residence, freshers, and clubs and societies groups.
