From Essentials and Extras, LUU’s convenience stores, to a book shop and specialist clothes and gift shops, the Union building has loads of great shops providing a variety of products; everything you need under one roof.
Bars and Nightclubs

The Union has three bars, one with a restaurant, and two clubs. They all have a unique atmosphere, so whatever your taste in music or style, there is a place in here we are sure you will enjoy hanging out in.
Don’t forget, as a member, you can book any of LUU’s bars or clubs for FREE, to host a meeting, a social, comedy night, discussion or any other event.
Services for students
There are many services in LUU that provide help, support and advice.
The ARC (Activities and Resource Centre), upstairs in the Union building, is where you would go for everything to do with student activities. There is a helpful team of staff who provide support to activity groups and help members get involved.
Joblink, is the Union’s employment service. It is located within the Information Point and can help find work. Whether it is temporary, part-time, course-related or voluntary work you are after, Joblink has a whole database of vacancies to suit all interests.
The Student Advice Centre is a free professional, friendly service, independent from the University who offer confidential help and advice. They can help with any problems concerning life as a student.
The Student Executive Office and Democracy Support Office is where the Student Executive Officers are based. You can pop into the office anytime for a chat. The Democracy Support Office is just next door to the Student Executive Office. This is where to go for everything to do with elections, representation, union committees, decision-making and campaigning.
Student Offices
There is also some student-ran offices within the building. These include: RAG, the Union’s official fundraising body; Action, student volunteering group; LS:TV, the student TV stations; LSRfm.com the student radio station; and Leeds Student Newspaper.
