Through the years some of the biggest bands in music history have played at the Refectory and the venue is still home to the world's most popular acts!
The 2,100 capacity Refectory has played host to the most important acts around since the late 1960's, including Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Rolling Stones, The Jam, Elton John. Perhaps the most famous live recording ever made, The Who Live in Leeds, was recorded in The Refectory. This seminal recording is now classic rock and roll, proving what heritage the Refectory has.
More recently, Leeds Uni has played host to the likes of The Strokes, Basement Jaxx, Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, James Brown, Muse (recorded live for MTV), The Streets and Franz Ferdinand. All of our Refec gigs and most of our club nights are open to non-students as well as students.

When the Referectory is not being used in the evening to host out gigs, it is run by the University to offer a range of hot and cold food.
