Also in the Union: Before being on the Student Exec, I have been on the committee for People and Planet Society, Swing Dance Society and Conservation Volunteers. I have also played ultimate frizbee, as well as being involved in Green Action society and the Ethical and Environmental Assembly.

I stood for election because:

LUU made a massive positive contribution to my time as a student and I really wanted to work to ensure that this remains the case for future students, and that LUU is truly a student led organisation.

What does the role of Welfare Officer involve?

To make sure there is appropriate provision for students' general, sexual and mental health issues and to be responsible for ensuring excellent support for students in areas of debt management and university accommodations.

While in office I intend to:

• Work to ensure that there is excellent support for students with mental health difficulties, and that students know where to find this.


• Promote the importance of welfare issues to students and support the Welfare Assembly Chair as much as possible.


• Research bullying amongst students and implement ways of tackling it and supporting students who are victims of bullying.
