Also in the Union: Pre-Exec, I worked for Marketing, in LUU, as a Student Brand Manager talking to students about key campaigns and megaphoning at elections.

I stood for election because:

Tension between students and the communities they live in is a big issue - I wanted to be a part of the solution in this brand new role.

What does the role of Community Officer involve?

To be responsible for representing the views of students in the Leeds community and to oversee student issues related to external community factors such as safety, housing, and crime. Also be responsible for managing community relations and leading LUU's community strategy.

While in office I intend to:

• Work with Student Advice Centre on housing campaigns to ensure students are getting a fair deal on accommodation and know their rights if something goes wrong.


• Continue to focus on student safety, in partnership with the Police and Council.


• Support links with our communities through the new Union Community Reps scheme to help us make a more positive impact on where we live.
