AIESEC is the world's largest student organisation. It is a non-profit, fun society run for students by students. Members and recent graduates are encouraged to discover and develop their potential in leadership positions for a positive impact on society. Created after the Second World War, AIESEC aims to help spread cultural awareness by facilitating an exchange programme, enabling students from different countries to live and work abroad.

AIESEC can also give you the chance to go and work abroad in any one of our 100+ countries! These are non-permanent positions that last from eight weeks to 18 months. There are four different areas of work. Though we have included some general characteristics they are not guaranteed, as the details depend on the particular job you are applying for:

• Development Traineeships - This involves working with NGOs with a wide range of purposes, aims and methods. Typically they do not offer a salary but the sometimes provide free accommodation.
• Education Traineeships - This involves working with an educational institution, typically these are schools but can also include companies that teach business men/women language skills. They usually offer a subsistence salary and can sometimes offer free accommodation.
• Management Traineeship - This involves working commercial businesses, anything from small private enterprises to multinationals. These positions are fully paid with a living wage for the location guaranteed.
• Technical Traineeships - These are engineering or IT students. These positions are fully paid with a living wage for the location guaranteed.

AIESEC Leeds holds weekly Local Committee meetings every Monday from 7.00pm to 8.30pm in the room G.31 of the Leeds University Business School.
