Formally known as the Housecraft Society, Stitch n' Bitch is the society to join if you enjoy all things crafty. We have a weekly meeting on Mondays which focuses on 'portable crafts' - mostly knitting and crocheting, but we won't stop you if you want to do embroidery, tatting, lace-making etc.! We swap ideas for projects, help each other with the tricky bits, teach each other new skills, drink tea and chat.
Once a month we have meetings for less 'portable' crafts: last year we learnt how to batik and how to make sweets; we also roasted a turducken (ask wikipedia for more info!), made vodka tomatoes and created our own aprons!
You don't have to be able to do any crafts to join the society, just be willing to learn. If there is anything specific you want to learn, we can always arrange a special meeting for it, and get in a specialist! We also have regular socials, to visit craft exhibitions and local tea-shops.
