Teams:
Our first team is in the premiere north league of BUSA which competes with five other universities over ten matches playing both home and away games.
Varsity is played at the beginning of the academic year against our rivals Leeds Metropolitan who we also play in the BUSA league. We also compete in a charity game against York.

Who is Welcome:
All are welcome to our club, what ever experience you may or may not have Leeds University Rugby League wants you! The majority of our team has come from a rugby union background. I myself, as club captain, had never played rugby league before coming to University and wanted a change, it is a decision I have not looked back on. Learning a new sport is a challenge I recommend to anyone. My time as a member of the team has been full of opportunity and progression as well as meeting a great bunch of lads. In terms of team success we were stronger off the field last season but this is something we are going to change this year and are in need of fresh players to strengthen and build our squad especially in the pack as we lost many players due to graduation etc. So if you fancy a change or just a great social, Leeds University Rugby League is for you.

My own experience of Leeds University rugby league:
Coming from a rugby union background and learning a new sport has been a brilliant experience. Since joining the club there has been opportunity for myself and team mates to play a high standard of rugby, through the university in the BUSA leagues and through links to other clubs to play at National and GB level. University rugby is a great way to further your rugby playing experience and offers a great way to make friends, you should try it.

Feel free to come along to one of our training sessions at Weetwood Playing Fields every Monday 8.00pm to 10.00pm.
