Conservation Volunteers (LUUCV)

LUUCV carry out volunteer practical conservation tasks with local authorities in and around Leeds, involving the management of several important green areas such as Golden Acre Park, Otley Chevin and Woodhouse Ridge by means of scrub and rhododendron clearanceas well as litter picking and other activities.

We also have yearly weekend trips to the Lake District to help the Forestry Commission restore native woodland by removing spruce tree saplings and planting heather seed in recently felled areas. It is a fun and often rewarding way to enjoy the countryside and parks in the Leeds metropolitan area, as well as being good for your CV!
