Coming to University and feel like you'll miss your old dance school? Want to learn how to dance from scratch? Well the Modern Dance Society could be exactly what you are looking for!

Our society runs in much the same way as any external dance school. It's open to everyone and you don't have to audition with us! We bring in amazing qualified teachers who will tutor you in up to four different dance styles. You can take as many or as few styles as you wish as each is taught on a different day of the week:

Jazz (Monday)
Tap (Tuesday)
Street (Wednesday)
Contemporary (Thursday)

Jazz, Tap and Street are available at three difficulty levels:

Beginner (for those who have never danced before)
Intermediate (for those who want to improve on their skills)
Advanced (for those who have been dancing for a number of years to a high standard)

Contemporary is available at Beginner and Intermediate.

In early March we take part in "The Dance Show" which brings together all of the Union's dance societies to create one big dance extravaganza. Members are not required to commit to the week long show, although in the past most members have seen it as a fun way to showcase their talents.

Spaces fill up quickly as we are only able to take around 30 students per class so find us early at Intro Fair to make sure you are not disappointed!
Waiting lists move relatively quickly and we usually manage to give everyone a place before Semester Two and the Dance Show.

The Modern Dance Society is friendly, laid back and committed to spreading our love of dance amongst fellow dancers and those interested in learning new techniques.
