Leeds University Union Taekwondo is a friendly and open-minded ITF Taekwon-do school at the University of Leeds. All styles (ITF, GTI, TAGB, WTF) are welcome!
The club is run by elected student members so that the students' interests are best represented throughout. A very qualified team of instructors teach us fast, accurate and controlled kicking and hand techniques, traditional forms, and effective self-defence techniques.
We often include light-contact sparring in the lessons, a game in which the player wearing protective guards uses his kicking and hand techniques with speed and wit to score points against the opponent.
The training is tough, great fun and builds ones stamina, agility, speed and power. While bestowing the student with martial art skills it develops his or her self-confidence and self-control.
On a competitive level we often participate in and host national tournaments. TKD is a very safe martial art suitable for absolutely everyone! Of course we also indulge in many activities and socials outside training.
