Gliding

Gliders are unpowered aeroplanes. They use rising air to maintain height and, in the hands of experienced pilots, are able to stay in the air for long periods and cover distances that might surprise those not familiar with engine-less aircraft.

Most members of our club (including myself) were introduced to gliding through this society and many of them have progressed beyond the solo stage of training, which is when the sport really becomes incredible!

All of the instructors who teach us to fly are fully qualified, but voluntary, doing the job purely out of their passion for the sport. This means the cost of gliding for you is kept to a minimum.

If you come gliding with us regularly, it is very likely that you will fly one of the gliders SOLO within a year! Such a sense of achievement can rarely be experienced in any other type of hobby or sport.

"So what are you waiting for? Come and fly with us!"
