A-Capella Singers

LUU A-Cappella Singers is a vocal group that work on multi-part arrangements of songs from a broad range of genres, eras and styles. We are now in our fourth year and are going from strength to strength.

This is a unique, creative and fun group, encouraging originality and experimentation. Members are auditioned into the group in September and those who are successful get the opportunity to sing, beatbox, arrange, conduct as well as perform. This year we will be doing songs including Hounds of Love (Futureheads), Black Horse And The Cherry Tree (KT Tunstall) and Sweet Home Alabama (Lynard Skynard).

As well as a main A-Cappella group we also have an all male barbershop octet called Head Row that formed last year. At their first concert in May 2007 songs included My Evaline (Trad.), Eleanor Rigby (Beatles), I Want You Back (Jackson 5) and Fat Bottomed Girls (Queen). For more information about Head Row contact headrow@googlemail.com.

Look out for performances we will be doing this year including a final showcase in March/April to hear things you know but with an A-Cappella twist!
