Leeds University's Music Theatre Society is one of the Union's largest and most successful student societies. Founded in 1991 we have put on at least two large theatrical productions a year. Each show is performed on five consecutive nights to an audience of up to 400 people each night.
In the last two years our shows have included such shows as ‘West Side Story’, ‘The Wild Party’, ‘Sweet Charity’, ‘Songs for a New World’ and most recently ‘Parade’. We pride ourselves on the broad spectrum of shows we cover and with our next production ‘A Chorus Line’ we’re looking forward to a new challenge.
The cast always houses a range of ability levels. Whether you’re a first time performer or a seasoned actor, there’s always a place for you if you’re right for the part. Everyone gets brought up to the same standard no matter what level they begin at with two 5 hour rehearsals a week.
The Auditions for ‘A Chorus line’ will be September 27th-28th 2008 from 12.00 noon to 5.00pm. You only need to attend one day and recalls will be later in the week. The auditions are always a lot of fun and a brilliant chance to meet new people, as well as coming away from the experience at the very least with a routine you can bust out at any club worth going to.
We look forward to seeing you there!
