The average week consists of playing in BUSA league games as well as the comical, but much loved Yorkshire League on Saturdays. We run five teams that cater for all standards, so don't be afraid come and have a go! We also compete in Varsity, against Leeds Met and Christie Cup, with Manchester and Liverpool. Plus there's always the lure of the infamous hockey tours. So come and join us - the more the merrier!
Our 1st team competes in the BUSA Premier and that the whole club performed well last season, benefiting from strength in depth. We recruit for all abilities and levels of intensity but are particularly in need of goal keepers.
Hopes for next season are for the 1st team to stay in BUSA Premier and promotion for all other team, in all divisions. We'd also like the Saturday 4th team to have a brilliant first season as a competitive side.
When you sign up to become a Leeds Hockey Bird, it is not just hockey that you are letting yourself in for - oh no! Leeds University Hockey is notorious for it's social life. The large number of members guarantees weekly shenanigans usually starting in the Old Bar and ending in a very cheesy club! Close links with the men's club always provides much amusement and gossip!
